Scope 3 emissions strategy on aluminum, copper, steel and plastics purchasing for a Tier 1 automotive supplier

Detailed measuring of Scope 3 emissions for each material and suppliers diversification strategy for our client’s CTO.

DWDG identified, for each material, the alternatives to current sourcing. We mapped carbon footprint of key production processes – eg blast furnaces + basic oxygen furnaces vs Electric Arc furnaces.

We also identified key producers and measured their estimated carbon footprint per mass of material bottom-up, to steer the diversification of suppliers towards a lower carbon footprint
