Modelling the value of eco-design for a global auto parts maker
Modelling of distribution of costs and savings for addition of eco-designed features on parts
For three different auto parts, we modelled the economic viability of increasing their repairability, under various constraints
- Price increase (1st mount / “première monte”)
- Discount on second-hand parts vs. new parts
- Public incentives on second-hand parts
- Margin adjustments of various stakeholders
This resulted in a tool designed to assessed future parts with limited inputs, in order to decided on further implementation of circularity features (eg changing design or material)
